Somerset Berkley Regional High School

The new Somerset Berkley Regional High School in Somerset, MA, is a 222,826SF masonry and steel building. The new school consists of a 3-story classroom wing, a new gymnasium with an elevated running track, an adjoining fitness area, an auditorium, a cafeteria, a media center and a large group lecture hall. The new facility features a replica of the 1936 cupola that was located above the main entry of the previous Somerset High School along with many high end finishes throughout the school

The new state of the art school was built adjacent to the existing Somerset High School.  Once the new school was completed the existing building was abated and demolished to make room for new soccer fields. The existing football field was updated with lighting, a full synthetic turf field, new aluminum grandstand and a press box.

The new high school is being constructed to meet all of the owner’s requirements for a LEED Gold certification.
